Adventures in Guatemalan traffic

Please join us as we pray for the safety of mission teams as they travel from place to place in Guatemala. In the US we are so accustomed to our air-conditioned, comfortable cars that we may not even consider praying specifically for safe transportation for our full-time and short-term mission workers.

“Reading a Guatemalan newspaper one day, I noticed that many of the articles were about traffic accidents,” says Hilde, with OC’s Guatemalan team. “A few weeks later I saw a TV show on scary plane landings. It was a reminder of how dangerous travel can be.”

Throughout the year, many teams join together with other ministries to do local projects in the community. That means lots of travelling… by plane, in vans, walking through local streets, and in trucks over rough mountain roads. Please pray that God will keep them safe during travels and keep them in good health.
Also pray that God would work in the hearts of the team members. For some this will be their first trip to another culture and language. Pray for team unity and that their hearts would be open to hear what God is speaking to them. God is gracious, and he continues to work in all our lives.
