Whatever It Takes to Bring Jesus’ Hope to the Nations

In October 2015, One Challenge’s President Dean Carlson wrote an open letter to the worldwide OC team, including his special letter as an insert in the prayer letters of each OC mission worker in October. We are experiencing the most rapid ministry expansion in OC’s history, so Dean explains the exciting opportunities and challenges ahead through the Launch Project. The text of this special letter appears below:

Special Letter from the OC President about The Launch Project

Dear friend of One Challenge,

As OC’s new President, I’m on the edge of my seat watching how God’s on the move in our world. I see how he’s blessing your commitment to your OC mission worker. It’s working! And I’m amazed at the bigger team of which you are a part … the global OC family.

As you partner with One Challenge, you are among a group of passionate disciples who dare to dream and risk their lives to see God’s purposes accomplished. The worldwide OC team is filled with influencers willing to do whatever it takes to bring Jesus’ hope to people in 102 nations.

God is using this global team to stimulate disciple-making movements that ripple through people groups and multiply transformational leaders. Together, you and your mission workers are part of something bigger than you may have realized.

While supporting your mission worker at OC, I invite you to participate in The Launch Project. We’re trusting God to see more OC workers deployed, new partners unleashed, and increased financial capacity for the discipling of nations.

So far we’ve seen partners step forward who’ve joined us in prayer and in their willingness to serve abroad. We’re also grateful for God’s provision of $695,000 toward God’s long-term vision of $4.5 million.

The Launch Project is making a difference in places like SE Asia where One Challenge workers have been invited to equip indigenous leaders toward the goal of seeing well over 150,000 new churches planted in the next decade in Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The Gospel is reaching places never touched before.

We know that God is the one who raises up partners, workers and funding. Yet, he clearly calls us to both ask him in prayer and be willing to be his answer. I invite you to ask God how he might want you to partner with the One Challenge global family in addition to your own mission worker.

• Are you (or someone you know) drawn to cross-cultural ministry? Let’s talk!
• Does your church want to increase its reach through collaboration? Let’s partner!
• Want to touch lives in more places through Launch Project giving? Let’s do it!

Your contribution of $50, $100 or $250 to the Launch Project will make a big difference. If you haven’t already, you are welcome join us in this team effort. If you’re already investing, let me thank you for your obedience to the Father and encourage you to again listen for his direction.

My heart is moved by the story of the Macedonian believers who embraced a God-sized vision despite their own challenges. Inspired by God, they gave to others, and by their generosity inspired generations (2 Corinthians 8:1-5). I pray that you would simply ask God and respond if he leads you. Even the smallest gift and simplest prayer in God’s hands can transform lives and touch nations.

Together in the Great Commission,
