Sharing in High, Lows, and Prayers of Romanian Mission Workers

The background of the mission worker continues to become increasingly more diverse as nations around the world are “making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I (Jesus) have commanded you.” As this change continues to happen, care for mission workers looks different, but the need for care does not change.

In Romania, Mihai and Tammy organize the “Rest & Renewal” Camp for Romanian mission workers and their families, together with the Romanian National Member Care Team. This is the seventh year OC Romania has helped in the camp.

Rest & Renewal

“It is a week-long camp where we honor and come alongside Romanians who have dedicated their lives to missions. It was a blessing to listen to, cry with, and walk alongside Romanians who are dedicating their lives to Kingdom work,” Mihai says.

Sixty-two people participated in the Romanian Mission Workers program, 20 of which were children. Mihai oversees the overall program and has developed the debriefing program, which includes various methods and tools to help the participants look at the past, present, and future in their ministries and personal life. Tammy organizes the children’s program, which features many interactive, Biblical object lessons based on the Kairos for Kids program.

“Everything was so beautiful! Thank you so much for your involvement and invitation. In this camp, I received spiritual healing in reference to the problems and challenges we have in our ministry and personal life. Here I found people who know how to listen without judgment. For the first time in my whole ministry life in Romania, I finally received encouragement. Not even from our own church pastor have we received such love and care. God is really blessing this work.

I thank God for all of you. This is perhaps one of the best and most needed ministries happening in Romania today. We prayed for a long time for something like this. It is like God answered our prayers… You are like angels from heaven! Words cannot express our eternal gratitude!”

A Blessing in Partnership

“Often in ministry, partnerships can be especially stressful, frustrating and downright draining. This particular partnership is anything but! What a joy it is to partner with the Romanian National Member Care Team. No one is seeking his/her own agenda. We all know what role we play and we are united in serving and honoring the participants who attend the camp,” Mihai says.

Everyone on the team said this year, “I look forward to this week every year!” What a ministry to see people from different backgrounds and missions organizations say that about a partnership?

Pray with One Challenge for Romanian Workers

  • Pray for the 62 workers and children who attended the program. Also, pray the Spirit would rejuvenate them for their next term of service.
  • Pray for Mihai and Tammy and the OC Romania team as they seek to grow the spread of gospel in Romania but also serve Romanian mission workers.
  • Pray for unity within the church in Romania.
