Like many mission organizations, One Challenge works to make the gospel known in communities around the world. We take our direction from Jesus’s words to his disciples in Matthew 28, “go and make disciples of all nations.”
How do we approach this challenge? One Challenge connects with the global church to empower local ministry so they can impact nations.
CONNECT
Connect reflects two defining attributes of OC – non-denominational ministry and a deep commitment to partnership. Together with the OC Global Alliance, we serve alongside 460 organizations and networks to make the gospel known among the nations. We believe the body of Christ in unity can bring God’s transforming love and hope to all people.
“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work,” Ephesians 4:16.
EMPOWER
We do not use empower in a legal or authoritative sense, but rather to help individuals become stronger and more confident in living out the gospel in their community and culture. Coming alongside and assisting Christ followers to fulfill the work the Holy Spirit places on their hearts. Local believers are the best equipped to transform their nations for Christ. We ask how God is at work, then assist people to bring God’s transformation to lives, communities, and nations.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others,” 2 Timothy 2:2.
IMPACT
The gospel is bigger than one person or one organization. OC is about investing in local ministry but with a global mindset, thinking of effectiveness and reproduction in multiple cultures and languages. Through connection, and empowerment of others, OC comes alongside local ministries and believers so they can maximize the impact of the gospel.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth,” Acts 1:8.
