The holidays can be jam-packed with people, parties, and expectations. This is equally true of mission workers. For mission workers living and serving overseas, there can be feelings of missing families and traditions of home.
This season, One Challenge wants to share ways you can reach out and bless your mission workers —big and small.
- Ask about traditions in your worker’s host culture. This simple question shows you care about their lives and where they call home.
- Send an e-card or special message.
- Pray for fruitful ministry. Christmas is a time for a lot of outreach and ministry events in countries around the world.
- Send a monetary gift for the family to use for “fun.”
- Share a special Christmas recipe and ask for one in return. It may become a new Christmas tradition!
- Send a care package. Many companies, like Amazon, have international branches or ship internationally at low costs.
- Send something small, like Christmas stickers or an handmade ornament.
- Send your Christmas card and photos! An international stamp may cost a little bit more, but it will mean a lot!
- Mail a handwritten note or card. Your time is precious, this shows you care.
- Schedule a video call to talk face-to-face.
- Pray about giving a 13-month tithe. Many mission workers rely on end-of-year giving for their whole year.
- Join One Challenge in prayer throughout December, which will include praying for more mission workers to join your mission worker’s teams!
