Travel experience, life lessons, and tools for the future. These are just a few of the things that students can gain from intentional programs, like the Travel & Learn program out of Transforma University. A lot is gained, but the purpose is to help young people live a life aligned with God.
Miguel, a friend and colleague from Chile, invited Tim and Annette to help teach for a week at the Travel & Learn program for high school students and seniors. Ninety-five people traveled from seven different cities in three countries to be a part of this time together; 72 students participated.
The goal of the program is twofold. First, to help students consider what it means to live a life aligned with God’s purposes in the world. Secondly, to help them come up with an action plan for how to make good choices about their future – as they are entering college or the work force.
“Young people are in the process of defining who they are and what they believe,” Tim says. “We want to be agents for God’s kingdom to help them live and think like Jesus.”
Although only together for a short time, Tim and Annette had rich conversations with the adult staff and good interaction with the students. What a great time to be together!
