Love in Action – Ukraine Crisis Update

One Challenge

“And my God will meet ALL your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:19-20

We have many levels of needs and God sees them all. As he is meeting the physical needs of many desperate Ukrainians, it’s beautiful to watch him simultaneously fulfill their deep spiritual needs.

One Challenge workers feel called to make certain all aid has a dual element of both physical and spiritual; just like Jesus did in the healing encounters we read of in the gospels. All who came to Jesus with a physical need left with a spiritual need presented and healed if they chose.

With food, clothes, and firewood; Bibles and pamphlets are distributed. With generators provided to churches, God is generating hope. With great need, God is making room for great spiritual transformation!

Gathering People Together

Our Ukraine area mission worker says: “The churches use these generators to create a space with heat, light, hot tea, sometimes hot food, and a place to charge mobile phones and other electronics or flashlights. They provide a warm location for people to come and spend some time, warm up some food, and emotionally relax before heading back to a cold house or apartment. People usually spend several hours here as they charge their phones and drink hot tea. The spaces are also staffed with volunteers from the churches to talk to people, pray with people, and engage them in meaningful conversations about God and give them Hope.

These “heating points” are becoming major centers in their communities for people to gather. One of our main goals for distributing humanitarian aid through the church networks was to help churches regain their role as the center of the communities they are in. The place for people to come for food, for encouragement, for fellowship, and for information regarding news, life, and spiritual questions, especially as many people fear dying in this war.”

Pray with One Challenge

Many Ukrainians are coming to Christ! With you, God is making a way for people, healing hearts, and giving hope in their darkest hour. Thank you for partnering with One Challenge and the people of Ukraine!

Ukraine
  • Pray for all hearts to soften and turn to him.
  • Pray for Bibles to be printed that Ukrainian chaplains can give to the troops.
  • Pray for generators to provide power and heat homes.
  • Pray for the women’s refugee center to be completed.

And as Philippians states: “To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen!”
